The mission statement of Christ Lutheran is “Christ’s People Proclaiming Christ’s Love”. This mission speaks to the focus of all the ministries at Christ Lutheran. Being that Christ Lutheran School is a main outreach of Christ Lutheran Church, the school too has this as its mission. This mission speaks a lot to the benefit that is an education at Christ Lutheran School (CLS).
An education at CLS is one that in addition to teaching the core and extra-curricular subjects teaches children to love God and love neighbor. This, of course, comes directly from the teachings of Jesus. In this endeavor, CLS strives to instill in its students the morals needed for good citizens. We do this by purposefully looking at ways that CLS can serve our community and world.
Throughout the year, students at CLS positively impact the community and world through many different ways. A few things that students of CLS have done so far this year are:
+School-wide Caroling for shut-ins at Pine Ridge
+Lower elementary singing with citizens at the St Joseph-Lincoln Senior Center.
+Lower elementary creating art with citizens at Harbor House adult care center
+8th-grade leadership class raking leaves for a shut-in
+Middle School classrooms bought Christmas gifts for orphans in lieu of a class gift exchange
+Special Chapel honoring the service of our Veterans for Veterans Day
+Chapel offerings that go to various ministries domestic and worldwide
These are just a few things that students at Christ Lutheran School take part in fulfilling the mission of “Christ’s People Proclaiming Christ’s Love”. It is our prayer that others will see the influence of Jesus in our students. This influence is what makes a CLS education one that serves its students, and others, into eternity.
